Body of a missing TUM student found in the mortuary

Students at the Technical University of Mombasa are mourning the sudden demise of a second-year student. Benard Maina, a student from the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering was found dead his body lying at the Coast General Hospital

According to the memo released by the Technical University of Mombasa Students Association TUMSA, the body of the late student was recovered by Nyali Police officers drowned in the Indian Ocean. The statement shows that the late student may have drowned while swimming.

But, the information contradicts that of his fellow students who claim that Benard might have been attacked by thugs on his way. The students state that on the day he went missing, he had left his phone in the house, he was only putting on pair of Slippers and a t-shirt.

”Simu yake ilikuwa kwa nyumba, alitoka kama amevaa slippers nikama alikuwa anaenda kubuy kitu an hivyo ndio hakurudi.”

The late student has been residing in Kisauni area, the most fearful area where some of TUM students reside.
