Exam dates at TUM extended for two weeks as a long holiday for first years loom

The Technical University of Mombasa has extended the date on which students are supposed to begin their end of semester exams. According to the academic calendar that was earlier released by the institution, exams were slated for 5th July 2021. The new date for the commencement of the exams will be on 19th July 2021.

The extension of the exam dates will provide room for students who had been affected by the NEW ACADEMIC policy to revise and catch up with those students who started their semester uninterrupted.

At the end of the exams, students who are in their first semester of the 2020/21 academic year will break for two weeks before they commence their second semester in August. The second semester will run up to November where students will break for the long holiday.

Students who are in their second semester, for this case, those who joined the campus in September 2020 and January 2021 will have to break for a long holiday before they commence for the new academic year 2021/22. As per the University Calendar, the new academic year 2021/22 is set to begin in January 2022.

Normally, TUM offers a long holiday of about four months. Like wise, students who are supposed to break for a long holiday may be forced to break for four months starting August to December before they join others in January 2021 for a new academic year.
