A family in Tanzania is mourning the sudden demise of their 5 members who lost their lives in Dar Es Salaam stadium on sunday. According to reports, the 5 who belong to one family died when the chaos erupted at the stadium while the public was viewing the body of the late President Pombe Magufuli.
The five who died were of age between 5 years and 30 years. Reports claims that there are a number of people who lost their lives in the stadium due to the chaos and force used by mourners who wanted to enter the stadium and view the body of the fallen hero. Some collapsed, while others fainted on the spot. First aiders were on the ground to help wherever they can to save lives.
The family of the five had left their home in a personal car to the stadium. Upon arrival at the stadium, one of the family members took photos of the scene and shared them with those who were left at home. Henry Mtuwa, a family member said that they called Suzan (one of the family members who died) after sometimes but her phone couldn’t be answered.
The phone call was later answered by a stranger who said Suzan had fainted and directed them to pick Suzan’s belongings from Temeke District Commissioner. Upon arrival at the DC’s office, they were advised to go to Temeke Referral Hospital to see their members. Â Mtuwa said that Suzan was not in the Hospital but her body and the rest of the family members were found at Temeke Referral Hospital Mortuary.
