A total of 714 people have tested positive of covid-19 in the last 24hours from a sample of 6,039. This brings the total confirmed cases to 178,792 and the cumulative tests to 1,901,067. On the same there is still hope after 285 patients have recovered, totaling all recoveries to 122,631 of which 88,904 are from home based care while 33,727are from various facilities. 10 more patients have succumbed to death in the last 24hours all of them being late deaths reported after conducting facility record audits.
Obe day after Kakamega being one of the counties that were declared hot spot zone, it has led today with a total of 79 cases. This raises an alarm to residents in Kakamega county who most of them do not follow the Ministry of health guidelines, time has come for them to take covid-19 as serious matter. Yesterday, Kakamega county Governor came out requesting the goverment to give them more funds to the hotspot areas so that they can deal with the disease as per the new rules given to them.
