A petroleum train caught fire on its way from Nanyuki to Nairobi on a sunday afteroon, 6th June. There train which was carrying empty petroleum tanks bursted into flames.
According to reports, the engineers were contacted and appeared at the scene for rescue on time. The firefighters were also contacted, they work hand in hand with the engineers to make sure that the fire was put off and the fault resolved.
According to Kenya Railways, the fire was cased by an electric fault in the locomotive engine. The Kenya Railways reported that the services of the train shall be resumed as soon as the full inspection of the train is done.
