First woman president in Tanzania and East Africa Samia Suluhu has been left with a lot of burden by her predecessor, the late Dr. John Pombe Magufuli. Mama Samia is between a crossroad not knowing what to do between honoring Magufuli by not ordering new ways to curb Coronavirus and setting up new orders.
As things are with rumors that had previously spread that the late president had succumbed to the deadly virus despite the government saying he died from heart complications, President Suluhu might be forced to put a total lockdown in Tanzania to control the situation which is now getting out of hand.
Before his death, three top government officials from Tanzania had also succumbed to the virus, but still, the Tanzanian government did not want to declare their country as a dangerous zone.
Recently there were reports from the country that they had discovered a new variant of Sars-Cov-2 which was said to be mutating much faster than the variant that is in Kenya. They reported that the mutation had been seen among Africa travelers in Tanzania.
That means the Tanzanian government has to put their ignorant aside and deal with the situation before it sweeps the whole country.
President Samia will have to be forced to issue new directives and order its citizens to wear masks, keep social distance, and frequently wash their hands.
The call comes after the late Magufuli, just before his death had asked those Tanzanian citizens who felt like wearing masks should do so but they should wear those recommended by the Tanzania Ministry of health.
President Suluhu is now the one on the watch by the World Health Organization (WHO) and other countries as her way of handling the virus will assure Tanzanians of their safety.
