The Kenyan government has agreed to increase HELB Loan Allocation fee as it was demanded by University students in December 2020. According to reports, the state will not increase University fees as it had been demanded by University Vice Chancellors and a number of the embers of the parliament.
According to reports from the board of university vc’s last year, University tuiton fees was to be increased three times from sh.16,000 to sh.48,000. The state has therefore agreed that the fees wont be increased rather, the state will enhance the amount of HELB Loan allocation.
Currently, HELB Loan gives students a minimum of sh.37,000 and a maximum of sh. 60,000.
