2Tanzanian gospel artist, Rebecca Magaba’s marriage finally lapsed after two decades of lack of conjugal pleasure. The 21-year old marriage between Rebecca and Zabron Masegele was dissolved in court after being convinced that the marriage missed as functionally anticipated by society.
According to court affidavits, as seen by Nairobi News, Masegele is said to be suffering from cryptorchidism. This is one condition in which both testes fail to descend from the abdomen into the scrotum. The disease, it interferes with the production of sperms which is the basic function of testicles. This may in turn result in infertility.
While giving evidence to corroborate her reasons for the divorce, Rebecca said for over twenty-one years in marriage, they have never had sexual intercourse, something she termed as unfair, inglorious, and an intractable problem. A dilemma that came along with long-lasting agonies and the disquieting pain of having no child.
While giving the verdict, Resident Magistrate Mwinyiheri Kondo said the court had decided to dissolve the marriage “after satisfying itself that the couple is doing things contrary to marital expectations.”
However, this marriage termination also came in hand with a number of repercussions. The court ordered for equitable division of assets that were accumulated in the period of their now-defunct marriage.
Rebecca earned herself a prestigious real estate property in Madale, Dar es Salaam. On the other hand, Zabron was accorded a 10-acre farm in Bagamoyo, two shops in Bonyokwa, and a tree farm in Kigoma.
This condition is one of the most common endocrine problems in newborn male infants and commonly identified by doctors at birth. Nevertheless, it often corrects itself within few months of birth.
