A primary school teacher found indecently assaulting his pupil at a swimming pool during a school tour on Saturday was busted by DCI detectives, as a pursuit for a second suspect (also a teacher) heightens.
“Mr. Joseph Nduva Wambua & his counterpart Mike Kioko, both teachers at Step Up Zion Academy Nthongoni in Makueni’s Mtito Andei were spotted by a concerned female customer doing the indecent act,” said the DCI.
The investigators indicated that the teachers had among others been trusted with the responsibility of 32 KCPE candidates for a trip organized by the institution to Tsavo Inn Hotel located in Mtito Andei.
According to the observant female customer, she noted the two suspects joining the pool where several kids were in and started to caress the two 13-year-old girls under the waters contrary to the school rules that restrict intrusion of personal space between male teachers and female pupils.
“Swiftly responding to the lady’s call, detectives rushed to the scene just as the two teachers were scampering into escape routes,” adds the DCI.
Kioko one of the suspects managed to sneak the officer’s dragnet.
Nduva who was apprehended will be indicted today in court.
“Meanwhile, investigative interviewing is ongoing at the school, as the manhunt for Kioko continues,” reported the DCI.
