TUM First-years to go for a long holiday, continuing students to break for 4 days as exams set to begin in two weeks time


Students at the Technical University of Mombasa are racing against time as they prepare to sit for the end-of-semester exams. As per the memo released by the Registrar, dated 1st July, all students in session will begin their exams on 19th July. The exams are set to run for a period of one week.

Thereafter, continuing students who are expected to proceed to their second semester of the 2020/21 academic year will break for a period of four days, from 2nd August to 6th August before the commencement of the second semester.

According to the memo, all first-years who joined in 2020 and 2021 at the varsity will proceed to a long holiday which is set to commence from August 2021 to January 2022. Those taking a two-year course will go for industrial attachment while those taking a 3-year diploma course in engineering will go for internal attachment.

Students are also reminded to clear all the outstanding fee balances at the end of the 12th week as per the Financial Management policy 2019.

The registrar also urged all students at the varsity to observe Covid-19 measures put in place by the University Health Department to curb the spread of the novel coronavirus pandemic.
