Technical University of Mombasa Students Association TUMSA has finally given information about units registration and online learning.
According to an official memo signed by TUMSA Chairman, the students union had a discussion with the administration on matters affecting students and online studies. The Union wanted the University administration to allow all students to register for units and continue with online learning under no condition.
”Without hesitation, Yesterday we had a consultative meeting with the administration and discussed the matter at hand at length. The demand remained one; the students be allowed to register for their course units under no condition, part of the memo read.
As per earlier reports, all students who are government-sponsored are required to pay all fees before they are allowed to register for their exams. Students who are self-sponsored and those doing diploma and certificate courses were to pay 50% of school fees before they register for the units.
The administration had opened the portal to allow students register their units. It was then closed two days latter due to unknown reasons. The portal shall then be reopened once again to allow students register.
The chairman has called upon all students to remain united and peaceful as they try to find the solution. In the memo, the chairman also noted that plans for online learning are underway.
