The matter concerning online learning and units registration at the Technical University of Mombasa might see some students facing the full force of the disciplinary committee.
According to TUMSA chair Jacklinus Otiato, anyone who is against the current Policy and those who will give negative information will face the disciplinary committee. According to hundreds of students at the varsity, most of students are unable to register for the Units to be able to attend online classes that are slated for 12th April 2021.
As per the current Academic Policy, students at the varsity are required to pay a certain amount of fees before they are allowed to study either online of physically. The policy demands that all KUCCPS/government sponsored students are required to pay all fess before they are allowed to register their units.
On the other hand, the policy require all Diploma and Certificate students to pay 50% of their school fess before they are allowed to register their Units.
Failure to register units within the stipulated time means that a student will have to defer and wait for another academic year.
This had made most of the students to be worried about their fate at the University. According to Otiato, all students should abide by the POLICY and do as per it’s requirement. Those who will fail to abide by the policy will be left out of the system until the next academic year.
